Time really flies (when you are not in some sleep deprived zombie mode) and the little un sure does change rapidly, so enjoy that newborn stage, it goes all too quickly! I was warned that midwives present a less than united front at ante natal and they were right but i didn't expect to be scolded like a child...or blatantly lied to! That said...my community midwife who i really didn't warm to at first i ended up getting on really well with and she was very sympathetic about my hospital nightmares when i came home and offered to go through all the hosp notes with me whenever i am ready to try and make sense of what happened. This afternoon i am taking Z for her health visitor follow up with yet another different person...we shall see! fabs – i tried the book tip straight away – i think it is helping a bit!! thank you!!

I had a horrid mw after my girl was born. She kept clicking her heels (the baby) to wake her up so she could feed. When you are so out of it, it is very hard to stay stop it. My cousin had labour then a C section. Doesnt sound nice at all but at least the bub came out safely and thats the main thing. No one quite tells you how much blood there is going to be afterwards do they?. Its not nice at all. As for the sick. I ended up propping up the moses basket at the head end with a little book. Means that the baby is slightly elevated and prevents the sick coming. Esp good late at night when you cant be bothered to clean up sick. Give it a try. Its is surprising what a little amount does.. i mean the size of the book. I found myself nodding to a lot of this. I had a horrid mw after my girl was born.
